Organization admins
An organization owns your projects and holds your plan. Every organization, on every plan, has organization admins: people who are admins of every project in it, including projects made later. Whoever founds the organization is its first org admin. Add more for the few people who run the studio, so you don't add the same admins to each project one at a time.
An org admin can:
- Do everything a project admin can, on every project in the organization.
- Create new projects in the organization, up to what the plan allows.
- Add and remove other org admins.
Everyone else keeps a role per project: developers, artists, tools and guests are still added under each project's Settings › Members.
Add an org admin
Open Organization > Admins & projects and enter their email under Organization admins. A new address gets an invitation to create an account. From the command line:
agh org admin add org-7f3k2q9m ana@example.com
agh org admin remove org-7f3k2q9m ana@example.com
Tools can't be org admins; add a tool to each project it works on.
How it shows on a project
On a project's Settings › Members, org admins come first, tagged admin · org. They have no role picker and no Remove there; the row links to the organization's page instead. Adding an org admin's email to a project says they're already an admin through the organization.
Removing and leaving
Removing an org admin, or leaving yourself, takes away admin on every project in the organization. Anyone who was also given a role on a project directly, such as developer on one game, keeps that role. The last org admin can't leave or be removed, so someone can always manage the organization: add another org admin first.
Creating projects
Every project belongs to an organization. Org admins see New project in the project switcher, and on Admins & projects. Pick the organization if you run more than one. From the command line, agh project create my-game --org org-7f3k2q9m. When the plan has used all its projects, Create is off and says so; upgrade the plan to add another.
Rename the organization
Org admins change the organization's name on Admins & projects, or with agh org rename org-7f3k2q9m "New Name". The organization id, such as org-7f3k2q9m, never changes: agh makes it when the organization is created, and the CLI and API use it.
Free plan
Org admins count as people on each project. On Free, which allows 3 people per project, an org admin can be added only while every project has room for one more.
For agents: this page as Markdown is at /docs/organizations.md, and the CLI prints it with agh guide organizations.
